Paraklete: A Masculine Word For A Feminine Spirit?


Why does the same author who recorded Jesus’ testimony that the Holy Spirit “gives birth” to Christians choose to use a masculine Greek noun to describe that spirit as the “Helper”, or “Counselor”?
Does this negate the fact that this Spirit who gives birth to us is our mother, as the Scriptures say?
