“The Dark Knight Rises”: Anonymous Comments Suspended

This is a recording of a live broadcast that originally aired on Thursday, July 19, 2012.

Gary Dennington joins Monica Dennington in a conversation about Tic Toc’s commenting policy, and anonymous behavior on the internet. (Gary joins the conversation at 6:50.)

Note: In this video Gary & Monica Dennington use the example of a movie review website shutting down comments on reviews of “The Dark Knight Rises” as a result of hateful, threatening comments against its critics, to illustrate the necessity of their decision to discontinue comments on major sites like YouTube.

Three hours after this broadcast aired, a gunman entered a theater premiere of “The Dark Knight Rises” in Aurora, Colorado, executing at least 12 people and injuring 58.

Our hearts and prayers go out to those most closely affected by this tragedy.
